Overview

La Breña is a 0.5-hectare parcel of Garnacha a short distance northeast of Rumbo al Norte. Similar to El Reventon, which they sold in 2023, there is a subtle change in the soils of La Breña, which in certain vintages makes a fleshier and more aromatic expression of Garnacha. In certain vintages, primarily less abundant ones, most of the fruit from this paraje is bottled as La Breña – where the fulcrum between fruit and minerality is optimal. In other vintages and to preserve the mineral persistence of this paraje, part of the production of La Breña is blended with fruit from nearby vineyards to create La Breña 1er cru.
