European Cellars Merges with Third Leaf Wines

Eric Solomon is pleased to announce the merger of European Cellars with Third Leaf Wines. This merger will result in a combined and diverse portfolio with a global reach, allowing Third Leaf Wines to focus on the core principles Eric Solomon established – unique and distinctive wines to a broad audience of consumers, retailers, and restauranteurs.

Under the continued leadership of Eric Solomon and Robbie Davis, European Cellars will operate Third Leaf Wines to ensure a seamless continuation of our commitment to supporting our producers and customers by delivering a broad range of wines of value, quality, and consistent availability. Led by Cameron Cotton and Drew Kennedy, our dedicated and specialized sales, marketing, and operations team will remain focused on our customers’ needs.

Among the esteemed estates that will be part of the new Third Leaf Wines are the historic Mulderbosch Vineyards (Stellenbosch), Empire Estate (Finger Lakes), Panther Creek (Willamette), Turning Tide (Santa Ynez & Willamette), Burgans Albariño (Rias-Baixas), the dynamic Roussillon estate of Jean-Marc Lafage, the iconic Rhône Valley properties of Château Pesquié (Ventoux), Domaine de la Janasse & Clos Saint Jean (Châteauneuf-du-Pape), the sustainability pioneering Herència-Altés (Terra Alta), Black Slate (Priorat), Evodia (Calatayud), and the renowned estate of Mariano Garcia, Aalto (Ribera del Duero). This impressive lineup underscores our commitment to offering a compelling selection of wines and estates across all price ranges.

“With close to 35 years’ experience as a wine importer,” says Eric Solomon, “I initiated this merger to allow a renewed Third Leaf Wines to reach more consumers while providing a deeper connection between my producers, distributors, and all levels of the trade. I’m so confident of Third Leaf’s success under Robbie, Cameron, and Drew that I’ve entrusted them with many producers who were with me from the start alongside appellation and terroir-defining winemakers who have defined European Cellars since 1990.”
