Overview

Unterem Berg is a two-hectare parcel acquired by Tom in 2022. Located just outside the village of Obermumpf, this site is a short walk away from the Rhine and the border with Germany. A portion of this parcel is planted with Gewürztraminer – a variety with a long history in this part of Europe where Alsace, Baden, and Aargau meet. A highly aromatic variety that tends towards being too much, Tom makes a restrained version where the texture of the wine is balanced with lively fruit and subtle spiciness. This is a Gewürztraminer for skeptics who think they prefer Savagnin or Burgundy.
