A signature variety of the Northern Rhône, Viognier thrives on cooler terroirs at higher elevations in the Southern Rhône. Like all northerners, it has a tendency to love the warmth and sun too much, and in the process, it loses its verve and becomes rather flabby and boozy. Le Paradou Viognier is made from vines rooted in rocky hillsides of porous limestone soils originating from the Jurassic period, resulting in a mineral Viognier with bright acidity and no flab. It is aged entirely in tank to retain freshness and purity.
