Press Review

This is refined beyond comprehension; there's purity, elegance, power and detail, symmetry and proportion. A wine that took my breath away.

- Luis Gutiérrez

Overview

In 2004 Ester bought a 1.5ha parcel of old vine Garnatxa Negre, Peluda, and Carinyena in Mas d’En Caçador– the famed vineyard on the border between Porrera and Gratallops. At 650 meters above sea level, this site is one of the highest in the Priorat and its north-facing slopes are pure blue and black schist soil. Since that time she has leased an additional 2ha of vines adjacent to her original purchase. Garnatxa Peluda, or hairy Grenache, is lighter in color than Garnatxa Negre as well as being fresher, lower in alcohol and marked by a spicy flavor profile – characteristics that temper the tannins of the Carinyena and the richness of the Garnatxa.
