Overview

Coming from well over 50 small parcels of vines scattered in a arc stretching along the Duero river from Soria to Valladolid and passing through the provinces of Bugos and Segovia, Galia is the personal project of Jerome Bougnaud who was moved to rescue these disregarded and ancient vineyards. Threatened with abandonment or replanting due to their age, difficulty in farming and location, with many outside the official boundaries of Ribera del Duero, these sites on gravelly sand and calcareous clay, are primarily head-pruned Tempranillo (including some ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines!)  with smaller amount of Garnacha and an even tinier portion of Albillo.
