Overview

Les Desmalets and Les Chassiegnes are adjoining sites with superficially similar topsoils and profoundly different subsoils. The secret of Les Desmalets is buried about a meter below the surface where the rocky clay changes to large, limestone blocks. Unfortunately this site has a full southern exposure on which its historic fame rests but with increasingly warmer summers, Stéphane has made the decision to use this site as part of his village Sancerre starting in 2018.
