Piesdescalzos means “barefoot,” an homage to the previous owner of Peña Cruzada who use to tend these vines in his bare feet. This sandy and granitic Albillo vineyard measures .7 hectares in size and is situated atop a hill at an elevation of 750m. Being so exposed, it is in constant danger of late spring frost. As a result Piedescalzos is skipped in some vintages.
