Overview

The Foothill Reserve Syrah is a pure varietal bottling from the Foothills in the Sun vineyard. It is one of the densest expressions from the estate, showcasing a depth of black fruit, smoked meats, black olives, graphite, mocha, and stones. This bottling is among the least touched by new oak, with a typical vintage seeing about 10% new barriques and puncheons. The wine spends a minimum of 6 months in new barrels before being racked into second-fill barrels for an additional 6-12 months of aging before bottling.
