A tribute to his Romain Roche’s father, Marcel Roche is a Côtes du Rhône made from a single parcel of 70 year-old Grenache vines located in the terroir of Cairanne know as the “garrigue” – the plateau of vines south of the village on red clay and limestone soils covered with galets and gravel. This warm terroir provides much of the muscle and richness of Cairanne but Romain treats this selection of fruit carefully, preferring a long, gentle maceration to coax out the suppleness and finesse of which these vines are capable.
