Overview

La Bota de Palo Cortado #86 “Bota NO” is a very unique Palo Cortado, originating from the finest and most precise producer in the Montilla zone. The excellence of the vineyard, both because of its singular terroir in the Altos de Moriles, and because of the quality of the viticulture, is key for preventing excess richness that Pedro Ximénez usually shows.

The elegance of this wine is a hallmark of this superlative Palo Cortado – an oxidative wine that boasts a verticality, a lightness, a delicacy that does not fit with the typical Oloroso from Montilla.

This is not an extremely old wine (averaging about 30 years old), especially in the context of the other wines in half bottles that Equipo Navazos has recently released such as the very old #73 and #78. We want to point this out, since the expectation for a half bottle in our Bota de range are usually highly concentrated and venerable wines. The exceptionality of this wine comes from its finesse, together with uniqueness and scarcity, since we have selected just one single cask out of this small solera.
