Overview

As textbook an example of Faugères as one could wish for, Thierry’s classic cuvée blends 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Carignan and 10% Mourvedre from blue and red schist soils, sand and sandstone. Typical of grapes grown on sandy schist, there is a mineral streak in the wine with edgy but sweet, ripe tannins and lifted aromas of garrigue and cracked pepper. It would be hard to mistake this wine for anything other than Faugères.
